It is written from official sources by an editorial desk, not from one person's trip.

Who Is Behind It

There is no single author behind this guide, no byline and no author photograph. The site speaks as an editorial desk that reads operator listings, official Spanish and Canary sources including Turismo de Tenerife, the Cabildo de Tenerife, Tenerife ON, AENA, TITSA, AEMET and ISTAC, and live public feeds, then reports what they say. No sentence here claims a first-hand visit: not a tour taken, a trail walked, a road driven, a meal eaten, a cable car ride or a day on a beach. Where a claim might read as first-hand experience elsewhere, it is written here as sourced reporting instead, such as "Tenerife ON lists" or "AENA names the airport". This desk has no invented credential, no claimed residency and no local identity: it works from documents, not from a persona.

Checking Every Figure

Every figure on this site is checked against the official page that owns it. Trail fees come from Tenerife ON, the platform that now runs the Teide reservations. Airport names come from AENA, bus lines from TITSA, the tram from Metrotenerife and park rules from the Cabildo. When a claim is widely repeated but no official page supports it, the claim is dropped rather than softened. The Teide pages carry the corrections that matter most to visitors. The summit trail PNT 10 Telesforo Bravo is booked on Tenerife ON, and since 19 January 2026 a daytime slot costs visitors EUR 15, with residents of the other Canary Islands paying EUR 6; it is free only for Tenerife residents and children. The cable car stops at La Rambleta at 3,555 m, and the crater beyond is a separate, reservation-only trail. Spain's own sources put the peak at 3,715 m, so that is the figure used here. Public transport is subsidised in 2026 for residents only, and visitors are pointed to the EUR 10 day travelcard and the EUR 50 seven-day card. ETIAS is not yet operating and the EU has published no start date, while the Entry Exit System has been fully live since 10 April 2026. Product data is read from two surfaces in a single locale before a tour appears. Where the two disagree on a rating, a review count or a duration, the tour is held back until they agree. A genuinely new listing with no reviews is described as new rather than padded with borrowed figures, and no rating or review count is ever typed by hand.

Lines We Never Cross

Some numbers get repeated across travel guides because they sound right, not because anyone checked them. This desk refuses to print them. There is no figure here for how quickly a Teide summit slot disappears, because no official page gives one; the only release fact stated is that a new week opens every Monday at 07:00 Canary time, keeping 56 days bookable. Nor is there a daily quota for the summit trail, a ride time for the cable car, a point-to-point bus fare between the airports and the resorts, or a fixed taxi fare, because none of these appears on an official page. Tipping is described as custom, never as a percentage. The sand on Las Teresitas is left where the official page leaves it: golden sand, palms and breakwaters, with no origin story attached. No count of pilot whales is given, and the Tenerife-La Gomera Whale Heritage Area is credited to the World Cetacean Alliance, which designated it in January 2021. Siam Park's Travellers' Choice award is described only as its owner's own release describes it, with no later year attached. Nothing here tells you Tenerife has approved a tourist tax, because no official page shows one; the charges that do exist, on the Teide trails, at Masca and at Barranco del Infierno, are named instead. The same discipline applies to the products. A free walking tour on GuruWalk never carries a price, because the walk is free to join and tip-based. Where a tour's price or booking link is not yet confirmed, it ships without one rather than with a guess. No tour is ranked by a rating this desk invented, and no category is padded with products that do not exist.

How This Guide Makes Money

Plenty of the island is free and stays that way here: driving through Teide National Park and stopping at its viewpoints, the park trails that carry no booking fee on any official page, every public beach, the old streets of La Laguna, La Orotava and Garachico, and the roads along the Anaga ridge. None of it carries a link, because none of it needs one. GuruWalk is the one platform named outside the disclosure and FAQ pages: the free walking tours listed there cost nothing to join, and you tip the guide afterwards whatever you think the walk was worth. One thing catches visitors out repeatedly. The cheap or free rate quoted for something on this island is almost always a resident rate: the Teide summit slots are free for Tenerife residents and children, EUR 6 for residents of the other Canary Islands and EUR 15 for everyone else, Masca is free for Tenerife residents and EUR 40.66 on the general ticket, and the fully subsidised bus fare belongs to a personalised resident Ten+ card, not to a visitor's ticket. A resident entitlement is never described here as a traveller discount.
